Texila American University conducted its 9th Graduation Ceremony on 22nd October 2021. The Chief Guest Minister of Human Services and Social Security, Hon. Dr. Vindhya Persaud virtually attended the 9th Graduation Ceremony of Texila American University.
Minister Persaud wished the graduates hearty congratulations while expressing her delight in being part of the event that saw 60 students taking the graduations in Medicine, Nursing, Public Health, and Business Administration.
Minister Persaud, who is a doctor, imparted her mantra of “Action thy duty reward not the concern” to the students as they ushered in the start of their new careers.
“It is said that there are many noble professions in the world but I believe noble professions must be underlined by the concept of selfless service so today whether you are a holder of a degree in Medicine, Nursing, Public Health or Business Administration, I trust that you will always be influential, inspirational and be ready at all times to serve all people where ever you find yourself,” Minister said.
This year, 28 students were conferred with the Doctor of Medicine Degree, 4 with the Masters of Business Administration degree, three with the Bachelor of Nursing in Science degree, and 25 with the Bachelor of Public Health degree.
The Human Services Minister indicated her hopefulness that those who had the opportunity of studying in Guyana would remember the country fondly while detailing that the country is open to everyone from the university to utilize the opportunity to work, contribute and benefit the country.
