I am Dr. Naveen K Nehru. It was a great struggle to get the prefix “Dr.”
When I failed to secure a medical seat in my motherland, I thought I could never become a doctor. Then came Texila American University (TAU) as a savior who gave me a second chance to achieve my dream of becoming a doctor.
While exploring other opportunities to study medicine abroad, I found TAU, Guyana, which made it possible to pursue my medical education in Guyana and become a doctor.
It was a great lifetime experience learning medicine in an ethnic country like Guyana. At TAU, I learned not only medical education but also different cultures and other skills to have a rewarding life and career.
When life gave me a second chance to start back my career through TAU, I utilized it and gave my best. After completing my MD degree in 2019, I appeared and cleared the Indian licensure examination, and I’m officially a Doctor now. Texila owns the major credit for my success as they have provided me the opportunity with a medical seat, best-in-class education, supportive lecturers, hands-on training in well-equipped laboratories, and exclusive clinical practice.
I would say TAU is the best school of medicine abroad. To all my dear juniors out there and everyone who aspires to become a doctor, “if I can do it, so you can.”
