On the 24th of March, 2023, Texila American University organized and hosted the Clinical Faculty Retreat 2023 at Cara Lodge in Georgetown, Guyana. Among those who attended were Mr. Syam Kumar, TAU CEO, Dr. Deeraj Bansal, Clinical Dean, and Dr. Hugh K. Duckworth, MD, Chief Academic Officer.
In addition to the university’s CEO, Clinical Dean, and Chief Academic Officer, the meeting was attended by all the TAU Heads of the department, Clinical Faculty, and residents who were involved in teaching medical students. The faculty discussed the logbook structure and the current curriculum, and the required cases being followed by students.
The students expressed their views on the overall clinical experience at GPHC. The Retreat is part of TAU’s annual faculty engagement plan and aims to strengthen the clinical program. The Retreat is the final part of the clinical program review, which includes a clinical site visit conducted by the Associate Dean of Clinical Affairs.
