Texila American University Expansion Project

The construction of the student housing will comprise 86 two-room apartments, and 16 one-room apartments and will provide more affordable accommodation for students on campus. The staff housing will cater to 30 families of Texila’s staff.

With IDB Invest’s support, TAU will strengthen its environmental and social practices by implementing an Environmental and Social Action Plan to enhance its capacity to manage risks and impacts associated with existing operations and the planned expansion.

The project is expected to contribute to the following United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): Quality Education, (SDG 4).

Texila American University stands proudly among the academic elite, having secured two prestigious accreditations: CAAM-HP and ACCM. Notably, it is one of the very few in the Caribbean region and the sole institution in Guyana to maintain two regional accreditations for its medical school.
