On the 5th of June 2023, Texila American University (TAU) enthusiastically participated in a significant event commemorating World Environment Day. Joining forces with the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce Green Committee, TAU formed a team called “Solutions to Plastic Pollution” to organize a remarkable Green Walk. The event aimed to raise awareness about the detrimental effects of plastic pollution while actively contributing to environmental conservation.
The Green Walk kicked off at the renowned Everest Cricket Club situated on Northern Camp Street. It provided an excellent opportunity for TAU to engage with the community and promote sustainable practices. As participants embarked on the walk, they symbolically demonstrated their commitment to combatting plastic pollution and safeguarding the environment.
The event received overwhelming support from a multitude of cooperative entities in Guyana. This collective participation underscored the shared responsibility and the urgent need to address environmental challenges. It emphasized the importance of fostering a greener, more sustainable future for generations to come.
