As part of its initiatives to fight Covid-19, Texila American University (TAU), in association with the Ministry of Health, Guyana, recently conducted a vaccination drive on its campus.
More than 113 people were vaccinated on 26 April and 187 on 27 April at the camp attended by Dr. Leslie S Ramasamy, former Minister of Health, Guyana. TAU students participated in the drive-by helping with the registration process.
The minister thanked the University, its management, and students for this gesture while highlighting the government’s elaborate plan to vaccinate more than 800,000 people. He reassured the people that vaccines are safe and that more than a billion people around the world have been successfully vaccinated.
While urging people to get vaccinated, the minister asked companies and businesses to encourage inoculation among their employees.
TAU has urged people to get themselves vaccinated on schedule, saying that “we are in this together”.
