Texila American University representatives attended 7 April 2022 a health fair and exhibition organized by the Region 6 Regional Health Services to mark the International Health Day 2022.
TAU, which offers world-class programs in medicine and allied health studies, was invited to provide information to visitors on the education programs it offered.
Held in New Amsterdam, Guyana, the fair was held in collaboration with non-governmental agencies, and one of its prime objectives was to improve access to health services.
Regional Health Officer Ms Vishalya Sharma said that there was a good response to the fair, and the organizers are planning to expand its footprint.
Mr Marlon Andersen, Texila American University Business Development Executive, said that several youngsters showed interest in the program.
Medical tests were conducted at the fair and brochures and pamphlets were distributed to raise awareness about diseases.
