Texila American University College of Medicine (TAU-COM) recently celebrated a momentous occasion with the White Coat Ceremony for the September 2024 batch of MD students. Held on the 27th of September 2024 at the Library, Texila American University Campus, Guyana. The event was a testament to TAU-COM’s commitment to nurturing future physicians of integrity and compassion.
The ceremony commenced with a warm welcome address delivered by Dr. Sooraj Surendranath, the Asst. Dean Student Affairs. Dr. Sooraj Surendranath’ s words set the tone for the event, highlighting the significance of the White Coat Ceremony as a pivotal milestone in the journey of medical students.
Following the welcome address, Dr. Dheeraj Bansal, the CAO & Dean, TAUCOM, enlightened the audience about the importance of the White Coat Ceremony in shaping the professional identity of future physicians. His insightful remarks underscored the values of professionalism, ethics, and empathy that lie at the core of medical practice.
Dr. Bansal then introduced the esteemed faculty members who play a crucial role in guiding and mentoring the students throughout their academic journey. Their dedication to excellence in medical education is instrumental in shaping the future of healthcare.
Followed by formal introduction of the faculties, the toppers of each NBME subject—Gross Anatomy, Embryology & Imaging, Biochemistry, Physiology, Pathology-I, Pathology-II, Pharmacology-I, and Pharmacology-II—were honored with trophies and certificates in recognition of their outstanding achievements.
The ceremony reached its pinnacle as each student ceremonially donned their white coat and signed the register, symbolizing their commitment to upholding the highest standards of patient care and professionalism. This momentous act marked the beginning of their journey as future healthcare providers.
