Dean of Texila American University’s College of Medicine, Dr. Dheeraj Bansal, talks about COVID-19 vaccination in a Radio interview. He speaks in detail about the vaccine and demystifies plenty of misconceptions that are doing rounds on the internet.
He talked about how the vaccine goes through various stages of testing and trials. He then went on to mention what happens during each phase of testing. He reassures that by the time vaccines reach the market, any severe side effects would have been recognized.
He also talked about the effects the vaccine will have on the body. The onset of immune response will result in physical manifestations like mild fever and body ache. Dr. Dheeraj ensured that this is normal.
The rare side effects experienced by some people should only be considered along with the number of people who received the vaccine. E.g., one person might have gotten rare side effects among a million people who received the vaccine. This is not a reason to get frightened.
Additionally, because of the lack of proper treatment, the only way to stay safe is to get vaccinated. And getting vaccinated does not benefit only yourself, it also lowers the risk for your family, says Dr. Dheeraj.
The interview also covered details about the new mutated strains of COVID-19. Please listen to the audio posted above to learn more about COVID-19. Get vaccinated, stay safe.
