Program Aim

The Mobile Computing specialization prepares students to get an in-depth insight into the almost limitless possibilities of a truly global, all-pervasive, mobile computing connectivity. The program prepares graduates to provide students with the theoretical and practical skills to build and develop mobile and smart device applications, manage, and protect them. Mobile Computing aims to confer a professional specialization with great emphasis on mobile computing and related technologies, allowing a series of studies to the holders of a degree in Computer Engineering, and related courses, including the possibility of expertise to professionals in the labour market.

Program Objective

The student who graduates with a major in mobile computing will be able to:

  • Are skilled, competent, and contribute to the work force in their specialty and/or can continue their education.
  • Work effectively in teams while exhibiting professional behavior and exercising appropriate leadership within their organization.
  • Display continued high ethical standards within the community and profession.
  • Are designing and implementing a plan of continuous learning related to their career.
  • Having the skills that, combined with continuous learning, will allow them to advance within their organization and career.

Program Learning Outcomes

The program learning outcomes (PLOs) set out the academic learning, skills, and achievements that the student must reliably demonstrate before graduation.

Upon successful completion of the courses in the Mobile computing specialization, the graduating students are expected to be able to:

  1. Provide students with knowledge, general competence, and analytical skills in Computer Science at an advanced level.
  2. Prepare them for academics, industry, and research.
  3. Get familiar with various generations of mobile communications.
  4. Understand the concept of cellular communication.
  5. Understand the basics of wireless communication.
  6. Get the Knowledge of GSM mobile communication standard, its architecture, logical channels, advantages, and limitations.
