On April 25, 2025, Texila American University (TAU) proudly celebrated its 16th Graduation Ceremony at the Ramada Princess Hotel in Guyana, honoring the accomplishments of graduates from the College of Medicine and the College of Business Management. The momentous occasion brought together students, faculty, families, and distinguished guests to recognize the hard work, perseverance, and dedication of the graduating class.
The ceremony commenced with a warm welcome from Dr. Hugh Duckworth, Provost of TAU. And special address by Dr. Dheeraj Bansal, Chief Academic Officer and Dean of the College of Medicine. We were privileged to have Mr. Robbie Rabindranauth Rambarran, CEO of the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC), as the Chief Guest. His impactful contributions to education and public service across the region added meaningful significance to the event.
Also in attendance were key members of the university’s leadership, including Dr. Ivory English from the Board of Trustees, Dr. Dheeraj Bansal, Chief Academic Officer and Dean of the College of Medicine, Mr. Syam Kumar, Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Vijay Fedelis Jerome, Dean of IQAC, and Board of Trustees Chair Dr. Seetha Shah. Honorable Chancellor Mr. Saju Bhaskar, Honorable Pro-Chancellor Mrs. Chitra Lakshmi joined the celebration virtually.
The event began with the recognition of graduates. Forty-five exceptional students from the College of Medicine were honored for their commitment to excellence and service. Equipped with rigorous training and compassion, these future healthcare professionals are ready to make a meaningful difference in the medical field.
The College of Business Management celebrated two outstanding graduates, now poised to lead with innovation and strategic thinking in a dynamic global economy.
A highlight of the ceremony was the keynote address delivered by Mr. Robbie Rabindranauth Rambarran, who spoke about the transformative power of education and the essential values of integrity, compassion, and service. His inspiring words encouraged graduates to pursue their careers with purpose and make a lasting impact on their communities.
Special awards were presented to students who demonstrated academic excellence, leadership, and commitment to community service. The “Outstanding Graduate” awards recognized individuals who made remarkable contributions to both their academic fields and the university community.
TAU’s dedication to community engagement was further highlighted as graduates shared their involvement in outreach programs, exemplifying their commitment to societal betterment.
As the ceremony drew to a close, CEO Mr. Syam Kumar extended heartfelt congratulations and encouraged the graduates to stay connected with the university as proud alumni. The celebration concluded with the traditional cap toss — a powerful symbol of achievement and new beginnings.
