Texila American University organized an “Awareness talk on Breast and Colon Cancer.” on July 21, 2023, at the University’s campus in East Bank Demerara. The keynote speaker for the event was Prof. Dr. Vijay Narayan Singh, MBBS. FRCS(Ed.), FRCS(Eng), FICA., FICS., FACS. Professor Emeritus of Surgery, University of the West Indies.
This event was organized as part of Texila’s Medical seminar series. During the ‘Breast and Colon Cancer Awareness Talk,’ Prof. Dr. Singh discussed breast and colon cancer and statistics concerning the Caribbean region. He also explained the various phases and diagnoses of breast and colon cancer and surgical techniques using real-life case scenarios.
