Mrs. Chithra Lakshmi has been instrumental in Texila’s growth from conception to reality. With her vast experience in the field of Finance, HR, Strategic Planning, Team Leadership and Gap Analysis & Planning, Mrs. Lakshmi has played a vital role in devising the university’s vision and strategy.
Mrs. Lakshmi oversees the Global Accounting and Finance Operations in Guyana, India, China, Philippines, Hong Kong, USA and UAE.
Dr. Dheeraj Bansal,

Dr. Dheeraj Bansal is a respected academic with over two decades of experience in the healthcare field. He is adept at providing academic and technical guidance to students and the institution at large. In his previous roles he has been instrumental in overseeing the functioning of the intuition as a member of the Executive Committee and has also served as a key member of the Quality Assurance Committee. As a skilled administrator, academic and leader, Dr. Dheeraj comes with a unique skillset that will be influential in the institution’s growth going forward.
Dr. Hugh K. Duckworth, MD
Provost of the University
Dr. Hugh K. Duckworth has more than 30 years of experience in a variety of high intensity crisis intervention, management and leadership role. He is a disciplined, committed and responsive individual with strong interpersonal skills that are complementary to results based problem-solving orientation. He has expertise in analysis, interpretation and presentation of complex medical data. Dr. Duckworth comes with a unique background of clinical, management, educational, and leadership experiences.
Mr. Syam Kumar,
Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Kumar brings more than 20 years of experience in the international higher education and offshore medical school sector. He was instrumental in the establishment of multiple Caribbean medical schools and served in various capacities, including as Chief Financial Officer and Vice President. In his early career days, he also worked with Bank of America as a Business Analyst in the Wealth and Investment Management team. Syam’s experience in higher education includes Finance, Admissions, Accreditation, and Operations. Mr. Kumar completed his MS from Texas A&M University, USA, and MBA from Bharatiar University, India. He is also a certified Accreditation Compliance Officer from the Distance Education and Training Council, USA.

Dr. Jagan Nadipelly, has been associated with Texila American University from 2016 and comes with more than 15 years of teaching USMLE integrated medical pharmacology curriculum to MBBS/MD students and has received the “Academic Excellence Award” of TAUCOM for the recognition of his teaching, research, and commitment to quality medical education. Dr. Jagan has actively participated in various academic activities including curriculum development, monitoring and organizing faculty development activities. Author of more than 50 scientific publications in peer-reviewed indexed journals which mainly focuses on cellular and molecular changes in peripheral neuropathy caused by cancer chemotherapy. He is an Editorial board member and Reviewer of several National/International journals.

Dr. Sooraj Surendranath has been associated with Texila American University since 2017. In his role of Assistant Dean of Student Affairs, he mentors students with a wide variety of academic interests and meets with students facing concerns about health, well-being, or personal issues impacting their academic performance. He is also serving the institution as Associate Professor of Microbiology and Immunology. He has over 10 years of teaching and administrative experience. He is a fellow and member of various international professional societies. He is appointed as Chair of the Admissions Committee, responsible for ensuring all policies and procedures of the Admissions Committee are conducted within the principles of equity, diversity, inclusivity, indigeneity, and accessibility.

Dr. J. Vijay Fidelis boasts over 20 years of experience in higher education, encompassing academics, accreditation, institutional ranking, strategic planning, and valuable corporate exposure. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science, actively contributing to the research landscape through publications in prestigious Scopus and WOS journals. His expertise extends beyond academia, as he currently serves as a reviewer for the ASTES Journal, demonstrating his commitment to knowledge advancement through peer review. Furthermore, Dr. Fidelis’s expertise as an accreditation specialist is evident through his guest lectures and workshops, promoting a comprehensive understanding of various accreditation frameworks.
