On January 17, 2024, students from Texila American University participated in the “National Youth Day” event, organized by the High Commission of India and the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Center. The event aimed to celebrate and honor the ideals of Swami Vivekananda, particularly his guidance on youth empowerment, positivity, and self-discipline.
The event began with a warm welcome address by Dr. Amit Telang, the Indian High Commissioner, who spoke about the significance of National Youth Day and the role of youth in nation-building. Following this, the chief guest, Sri Gokhale, delivered an insightful speech, focusing on the importance of embracing the values and teachings of Swami Vivekananda in modern times.
A key highlight of the event was an interactive session that provided valuable guidance from the teachings of Swami Vivekananda. The session emphasized the importance of positivity, mental resilience, and self-discipline as essential components of personal and professional growth. The audience was encouraged to incorporate these teachings into their daily lives to foster holistic development.
The event also featured a quiz competition, which was both engaging and informative. Ms. Tanishka Santosh Waghmare, a student from Texila American University, stood out by securing the second prize in the quiz. Her achievement was celebrated by the attendees, further adding to the vibrant atmosphere of the event.
