CSR Program’ Texila American University, Guyana (TAU) organized an Outreach on March 30th,2023, at the Leonora Secondary School in West Coast Demerara as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility.
This program provided a BLS training session(Basic Life Support skills).BLS involves recognizing signs of sudden cardiac arrest, heart attack, stroke, and foreign body airway obstruction, as well as performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and defibrillation with an automated external defibrillator.
Students and teachers were shown how to react in the event of a sudden cardiac arrest and what steps to take to save a life. This training session was attended by over 100 students and teachers.
TAU established this outreach as a method of giving back to the community and ensuring that students realize the importance of participating in community service.
