As part of its efforts to support the local community during the COVID-19 crisis, Texila American University (TAU) recently partnered with the office of the First Lady to lend assistance to underprivileged families. The initiative emanated from a consultation between the Office of the First Lady and the Private Sector Commission (PSC).
During a simple ceremony held on December 8, 2020, senior representatives of TAU handed over twenty-five food hampers to the Honorable First Lady, H.E. Arya Ali. Recipients of the donated items will include children residing in the Pediatric Ward of the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) and differentlyabled persons.
Commenting on the initiative, the President of TAU, Mr. Saju Bhaskar, said that TAU is honored to support the laudable ongoing efforts of the First Lady’s office to provide relief to the less fortunate during the pandemic. He added that TAU looks forward to working with the government and other entities within corporate Guyana to bring assistance to the vulnerable population during this difficult time.
About Texila American University: TAU’s Guyana Campus was established in 2010 and registered with the National Accreditation Commission the same year.
