The children from St. John Bosco Boys Orphanage visited Texila American University (TAU) Campus on February 13th, 2021. Sister Meg Eckart, who takes care of the boys, accompanied them. The children were taken on a tour around the campus. The tour started with a visit to the classrooms and then proceeded to the laboratories.
The boys, aspiring young doctors and businessmen, enjoyed the tour and were very curious. During the visit to the laboratories, the boys were very interested in checking out the cadavers and other biology models displayed in the anatomy labs by the TAU students.
After visiting the laboratories, the boys were taken to the library. The library was the highlight of the day for some avid readers who also spend most of their leisure reading at St. John Bosco Library.
The boys were then taken to the game room, where they had fun playing the games they loved. Table tennis and snooker were among the highlights of the visit to the game room. During snack time, the students sat down to have a heartfelt talk with Mr. Bala Kumar, Director of Recruitment and PR at Kaieteur Board room. They talked about how they spent their free time, what they dream of becoming in the future, and their day-to-day activities at the orphanage.
Sister Meg Eckart was delighted and appreciated TAU for providing this excellent opportunity of visiting the campus. She added that this visit was very inspiring to the children and was very relieving during this COVID-19 pandemic.
